Postpartum Depression that occurs during pregnancy or within a year after delivery is called perinatal depression. The exact number of women with depression during this time is unknown. But researchers believe that depression is one of the most common complications during and after pregnancy. Often, the depression is not recognized or treated, because some normal pregnancy changes cause similar symptoms and are happening at the same time. Tiredness, problems sleeping, stronger emotional reactions, and changes in body weight may occur during pregnancy and after pregnancy. But these symptoms may also be signs of depression.

Well, Tuesday April 14th is when it happened. I wrote pregnancy completely off my mind because I have never had any luck before with conceiving.
But, Sunday April 19th I had a really overwhelming feeling of what felt like anxiety. I was extremely moody all day long. I wrote it off as just being my period. That night I woke up to get something to drink and I had very tender breasts, very unusual for me. I just do not normally have pms ten days before hand. generally its about about two to three days.
I have taken a pregnancy test and it is negative, but I was told that it is too early for the test to be accurate because my period is not due until the 1st of May.
I’m a person of planning, and as you can see not having answers is driving me insane.
I’d love any comments or suggestions anyone has to offer. I am pretty clueless in this department.

What’s the cause of nervous exhaustion? Chronic stress. When you experience stress, your body produces adrenal hormones that excite your nervous system. Whether you’re late paying the mortgage or a Bengal tiger is chasing you, the result is the same – rapid heart rate, shortness of breath, and emotional agitation. On a short-term basis, this is a good thing because it is your body’s method of self-preservation.
