I am a little worried that I may suffer from this even though I have do not have a history of depression. I am an always happy kind of person. Does this happen to everyone? Who suffered from post-pardum?

Beware of After Pregnancy Emotions

Pregnant women generally suffer from anxiety and tension. They have endless questions in their mind. Some of the questions they do ask their doctors and some are too personal; these keep hovering in their mind endlessly.

Sleepless nights are common. Queries about their body, especially about the baby trouble them now and then to such an extent that they end up panic-stricken. Putting up with morning sickness and associated pregnancy problems for nine months, and then going through painful delivery- women get simply drained out of their energy and patience. Loving and caring the new born is said to come naturally to the mothers. But in certain cases new mothers fail to get stabilized with the changes in their life.

panic attacks after pregnancy?

Is anyone suffering from panic attacks after having a baby? If so did you take anything like zoloft or lexapro? I’m scared to take those but it’s been months that I’ve been suffering from these and it is affecting my whole life and my babies. We don’t ever leave the house because I’m scared I will have one while driving or at a store. Does anybody have any advice?? I’m thinking about taking zoloft. That is what the doctor has been trying to get me take for months now.

Depression After Pregnancy

Though most people may be relatively familiar with what depression is, most people are unlikely unaware of how significant of a problem depression is. In the United States alone, statistics indicate one of every five people is depressed. When that percentage is expanded, the result is millions and millions of depressed people. In itself that’s a cause for alarm, but what may be even more of a concern is that most depressed people in the US never get treatment. That equates to lots of pain, and lots of productivity lost.

I had a panic attack about an hour ago. I was taking klonopin as needed before my pregnancy, I didn’t need it until today. I am breastfeeding and I know it can be seriously harmful if baby gets any of it. How long do I need to pump and dump my milk?

I tried to call my doctor, but I just got a recording. Any advice would be nice!
I do have milk stored. I planned on giving it to him.

I am now 23 weeks pregnant and only discovered my pregnancy at the end of the first trimester. I am afraid I wasn’t very kind to my body during my first trimester. I was under an abnormal amount of stress, with frequent panic attacks, horrible eating habits, I smoked alot of pot, dyed my hair, and really just overworked myself. This all kept me from paying any attention to the fact that my body was growing a baby. I even chalked the nausea up to the fact that I was just mentally exhausted. Once I realized I was pregnant, I let go of the stress and tried to take care. I just had my first ultrasound and the baby “looks” healthy, but I am so scared I have hurt this little one in ways I can’t see. I will see the doctor again soon, but I wondered if anyone out there can relate to my situation.

I’m 34 weeks pregnant and have struggled with Generalized Anxiety Disorder since last May. This has been an incredibly difficult pregnancy because of it. Any ideas on how I can be the best mom to my baby even though I have an anxiety disorder? Thanks so much.

Congratulations, you just brought your new bundle of joy home. No doubt this moment is one of the most miraculous events to have occurred in your life. Lots of new changes, new sounds, and new routines are forming in your household. More things need to be attended to and there seems little time to spare. So how can I find time to Get Fit After Pregnancy?

If you exercised before and during your pregnancy you will be able to start an exercise routine faster (maybe 2 months after giving birth) but for a mother that wasn’t a big exerciser prior to her pregnancy maybe about 3 months or when your doctor gives you the go ahead to start your Get Fit After Pregnancy program.

Hello, I am now 32 weeks pregnant (planned). At about 28 weeks, anxiety kicked in with a few panic attacks and loss of sleep. I am on Ambien now (which is completely safe for baby) and it gets me through the nights. However, I am feeling anxious all day still. I feel like I need to constantly be busy because I get so anxious just sitting/lying down. I can’t just relax my mind. I have trouble napping or just enjoying peace and quiet. MY QUESTION IS: Will this pregnancy induced anxiety go away after the birth of the baby? I have heard that hormones can cause this, so will I go back to normal later, assuming I won’t be post-partum? Experience? Thoughts?
I am not necessarily anxious about the baby as much as anxious about anxiety and feeling wierd. I hate it. Hope that makes sense.
