This is my second pregnancy and I am terrified of needles. I mean seriously terrified… not just a bit nervous. During my previous pregnancy, I had panic attacks over all three sets of blood tests. I was upset as I was forced to have identical blood tests twice (one at the early pregnancy unit, then at the midwife booking in visit as they “don’t share information”).

I’m 15 weeks and have my booking in appointment this afternoon. I was wondering what blood tests do I genuinely need to have for the health of my baby?

As far as I know, I’ll be tested for:

- Blood group (I already know this and they should too after the three sets of bloods last pregnancy)
- Hepatitis/HIV (Again, I tested clear for these last time and haven’t slept with anyone else/shared any needles etc)
- Screening tests (I refused these last time as I wouldn’t want to have further tests or abort based on the results and I don’t want a false positive hovering over me for the next 6 months)

If anyone has any reason why I SHOULD have tests for the above, please mention now!

The ones I’m not sure about:
- Anemia (I think I may need this to be on the safe side?)
- Rhesus factor (No idea about this one… do I need this test during a second pregnancy?)

Any help/guidance appreciated!

Also, are there any other tests I should expect at the booking-in visit? I’m in the UK. If so, which ones would I actually need and which are just routine (like blood group)?

I take a low dose (50mg) of Seroquel for anxiety and have for a couple years now and after being on all sorts of other medications I’ve finally had real success with this one in preventing my panic attacks and anxiety. I am seven and a half weeks pregnant with my first child and when I spoke to my primary care when I confirmed my pregnancy she let me know that it was a Class C medication (most medicines are) and that if it was doing me so much good I should continue to take it. Yet, at my first prenatal appointment the nurse made a big deal about it and called me after talking to the midwife in the office and said I would have to start taking something else. I’ve been on almost every other antidepressant and anxiety medication and I know they are all Class C medications as well. My belief it’s more stressful for the baby to have a mother who has daily panic attacks and high stress levels. I’ve looked up the animal studies but they never said how much medication they were giving the animals. Did anyone out there take this medication during pregnancy? If so, what was your experience? Was there harm to the baby such as low birth weight, slow development or miscarriage? I really want to do the right thing and make the right choice but I wasn’t functional before taking this medication (panic attacks, crying, I almost crashed my car, nearly had to quit school, missed two weeks of school while I found a medication that would work, eating disorder behaviours, etc). I am of course going to talk with my doctor about it and all that, but if there’s anyone with first hand experience I would really appreciate hearing your story. Thanks and sorry this turned into a novel:)

Acupuncture and Moxibustion is a medical treatment that has been practiced for thousands of years in China and other Asian countries as well as now around the world. It is used as a means of treating and preventing disease. Acupuncture treatment involves the insertion of fine, sterile needles into specific sites (acupuncture points) along the body’s meridians to clear energy blockages and encourage the normal flow of energy (Qi) through the individual. The general theory of acupuncture is based on the premise that there are patterns of energy flow (Qi) through the body that are essential for health. Disruptions of this flow are believed to be responsible for disease. Acupuncture corrects imbalances of flow at identifiable points close to the skin.Today, acupuncture is an effective, natural and increasingly popular form of health care that is used by people whole over the world.

The modern scientific explanation about the effectiveness of Acupuncture treatment is that needling the acupuncture points stimulates the nervous system to release chemicals in the muscles, spinal cord, and brain, including endorphins, enkephalins and other neurotransmitters. Either these chemicals will change the experience of pain, or they will trigger the release of other chemicals and hormones that influence the body’s own internal regulating system, bringing about a normalizing effect on neuroendocrine function. The improved energy and biochemical balance produced by acupuncture results in stimulating the body’s natural healing abilities, and in promoting physical and emotional well-being.

Acupuncture needles are so fine that there is no discomfort when they are inserted but a slight tingle (known as needle sensation) may be experienced. The needles are usually left in for approximately twenty minutes to more. The Doctor may also stimulate the acupuncture points using other methods, such as moxibustion (a traditional technique that involves the burning of mugwort, a small, spongy herb used to facilitate healing), cupping and electro-stimulation etc. in order to re-establish the flow of qi.

Why we consider Acupuncture Therapy for our treatment ? Because:

01. It is very effective to treat some diseases, where other methods of treatment could not achieve good result or failed like Arthritis, Rheumatism or different types of pains, Autism (ASD), Depression, Anxiety / Psycho-somstic problems, Delayed speech, Sleep problems, Attention deficit disorder, Mental/Behavioral problems, IBS, Depression, Sleep problems, Hyperactivity, Epilepsy, Tonsillitis, Sinusitis, Bronchitis, Headache, Bronchial Asthma, Angina pectoris (heart’s pain), Paralysis, Hair falling, Acne, Burger’s / Raynuad’s Disease, Chronic wounds, Hair falling, Cerebral palsy, Weak memory, Dyslexia (weakness in study), causeless sterility etc.

02. This therapy don’t require any medicine. So toxicity due to medicine will be avoided.

03. It is free from side effect.

04. It helps to increase immunity power of the body; therefore Acupuncture makes defensive mechanism of the body strong.

The effectiveness of acupuncture is well-documented. Throughout its long history, acupuncture has established a solid reputation as an excellent alternative for health care that actually works, and is very effective to treat some diseases, where other methods of treatment could not achieve good result or failed. The World Health Organization recognizes Acupuncture as a viable means of treatment for a wide range of conditions.

An Acupuncture doctor should possess adequate knowledge and experience for providing proper treatment to his/her patients. To avoid the unwanted complications in Acupuncture treatment please avoid taking treatment by quack / fake Acupuncturist. There are many around us without proper qualifications. Because inadequate knowledge and experience may lead to serious medical problems.

Though this method of treatment has already been started in our country but due to quite less number of medically qualified acupuncture doctors available in our country and lack of proper perception about the application of this method in some specific diseases, the patients are depriving from the advantages of Acupuncture & Moxibustion treatment. So, I have made an attempt to provide little information about the effects of Acupuncture and Moxibustion in few conditions. Many of the facts and figures quoted in the following sections are the clinical trials carried out in China and others countries and results from my own clinical experiences.

Diseases of the Muscles, Bones and Joints:

Sprains: Sudden injury or sprains usually respond well to acupuncture. The pain resulting from a sprained shoulder, ankle etc will often continue for some days or weeks after the initial injury. Once a clear diagnosis has been made acupuncture can usually be used to relieve this type of pain. The experience of a many of Acupuncture doctors including me, shows that, of the people treated for differing acutely painful conditions, about 70 percent obtain significant pain relief. The main advantage of treating these acute pains with acupuncture is that chronic pain can be avoided. A sudden shoulder injury may produce pain and immobility for many months, sometimes years, but if acupuncture is used when the pain occurs then it seems that chronic pain may be avoided. However, Acupuncture treatment also very helpful to manage chronic problems too.

Arthritis: Arthritis and the rheumatic pains are quite a common problem. People frequently complain that their arthritic knee pain is worse in cold or damp weather and this demonstrates quite clearly the origin of the concept of pathogens in traditional medicine.

A great deal of research work has been done to investigate the effects of acupuncture on the pain. Clinical trials have been completed on knee, hip, elbow, neck and lower back pain, and the information from these trials shows that significant pain relief can be achieved in about 70 per cent of those who receive acupuncture. Acupuncture also has a ‘magical quality’ that drugs do not have. In spite of these problems, acupuncture is a safe and effective form of treatment for arthritis.

Headaches: Acupuncture treatment has been used to treat a wide variety of headaches, particularly migrainous headaches, and the results obtained have been very encouraging. The published work suggests that between 65-95 per cent of all headache sufferers obtain significant and long lasting pain relief from acupuncture treatment. Migraines seem to respond as well as, if not better than, other types of headache. Acupuncture therapy for headaches may cause the headaches to vanish completely, or occur with a markedly decreased intensity and/or frequency. The pain relief resulting from acupuncture treatment can sometimes be maintained for some years and re-treatment is usually required less frequently for headaches.

Diseases of the Nervous System:

Strokes: The brain is divided into many different functional areas; one area controlling movements, while another dominates the sensations of touch, speech and pain. The functional impairment that occurs with a stroke depends on the area of the brain that is damaged; if the speech or movement area is damaged by a lack of blood supply then the patient may be unable to speak or move properly. The research work suggests that acupuncture increases the blood supply to the brain, and for some unexplained reason this seems to improve functional ability and acts as a stimulus to recovery after a stroke. Clinical reseach trials completed by the Chinese doctor’s state that some effect can be gained from acupuncture in about 80 per cent of strokes. Western medicine often has little to offer the stroke patients and therefore acupuncture therapy is always worth considering. Ideally strokes should be treated within six months of the damage occurring. The Chinese doctors also treat their patients for long periods and a stroke patient may receive one hundred or two hundred acupuncture treatment sessions before being declared a success or a failure.

The Neuralgias (Nerve Pain): Trigeminal neuralgia usually presents with severe unilateral facial pain. Its cause is unclear but the painful facial spasms are often precipitated by cold or wind. The Chinese acupuncturist claim to be able to gain improvement, with acupuncture, in about 70 per cent of cases of trigeminal neuralgia. Acupuncture can undoubtedly have a beneficial effect on this type of pain.

Postherpetic neuralgia is the pain that occurs after an attack of shingles.Shingles is a viral infection of the nerves, It seems that of those patients with established postherpetic neuralgia, about 40 per cent gain some degree of long term benefit from acupuncture treatment. There are a vast number of aches and pains that are often described as neuralgic. Many of these occur as facial pain and most of them cause severe discomfort. It is always worthwhile to attempt to alleviate these pains by using acupuncture treatment.

Anxiety, Depression, Insomnia and Other Mental disorders: Acupuncture is clearly effective in helping symptoms such as insomnia and bed-wetting, anxiety, behavioral problems, depression etc. The Chinese doctors have completed trials on some of the more serious mental diseases, such as schizophrenia. In a trial involving over 400 patients they claim a 54 per cent cure rate for this disease, with a further 30 per cent showing ‘significant improvement’. However, from a variety of excellent research papers it is clear that acupuncture can influence quite radically many areas of the central nervous system, as well as neurotransmitters and others brain functions also. Therefore this therapy has a great role in brain related problems or neuro-developmental dysfunction.

Nerve Paralysis: Paralysis can also be treated by a variety of acupuncture techniques. The acupuncture must be continued for a long period. Sometimes daily for six months and the results from some of the research works are very encouraging. Researchers claim that some 50-60 per cent of patients are likely to gain significant return of function if treated with acupuncture.

Acupuncture and moxibustion can be used to treat Facial paralysis and the research claim a 75 per cent complete recovery rate The Chinese research also claim that a further 20 per cent gain benefit from acupuncture, although not complete recovery. Sometimes very old cases are also response with tremendous results, as I noticed.

Parkinson’s disease, Epilepsy, CP, nerve deafness etc: Acupuncture treatment is also very effective in Parkinson’s disease, Cerebral Palsy (CP), Epilepsy, Nerve deafness, and a large variety of this kind of other problems. According to some studies, Parkinson’s disease may be accompanied by an imbalance of energy along one or more meridians. The muscle stiffness, soreness, imbalance etc. of Parkinson’s may be alleviated by a series of treatments. It is always wise to remember that acupuncture is a harmless technique and can sometimes give excellent results in above cases where other medical methods have failed.

Autism /ASD, Cerebral Palsy etc: Acupuncture along with herbal therapy have been found highly effective for treating children with brain dysfunction, resulting in improvement in the patient’s overall functional abilities. Excellent results are being achieved through simultaneous application of Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine in the cases of ASD / Autism and Cerebral Palsy in different countries of the world. There are several research papers, articles etc. that has been published all over the world about the efficacy of Acupuncture and Herbal Medicines in this context. In my clinical practice I am also getting very effective result by applying integration of Acupuncture and Herbal treatment. I noticed that, formulated Herbal Medicine along with acupuncture session gives much result other than only Acupuncture treatment or only Herbal Medicine. Like other diseases, I treated several patients. Some of them improved tremendously just after few days of treatment.

ADD and ADHD: Acupuncture can help the patients to manage the Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD). It can be an excellent complementary therapy for the treatment of ADD and ADHD. In some cases Acupuncture works as a magic bullet for the treatment of ADD and ADHD. A research showed that, Acupuncture treatment has a good effect on attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, its total effective rate was higher and the changes in abnormal electroencephalogram and the curative effect were better.

Diseases of the Digestive System:

IBS: An increasing number of studies have been conducted on treating IBS, with promising results. These studies have documented that Chinese medicine can effectively treat IBS in a safe and drug-free way. In some of cases, from the first session of treatment patients started to realize that Acupuncture works.

Indigestion: Exact figures for success rates are not available, but the ‘clinical impression’ that arises from a number of acupuncture doctors indicates that about 60 per cent of patients gain some long-term relief of their symptoms with acupuncture.

Diseases of the Respiratory System:

Asthma: Acupuncture causes the contracted muscular walls to dilate; the mechanism of this is unknown, but there is good Western research data to support this claim. A recent Chinese clinical trial on asthma showed that some 70 per cent of asthmatics gained a ‘very good effect’ from acupuncture and moxibustion. The acupuncture treatment was able to decrease the frequency and intensity of asthmatic attacks over a period of a year or more. This result is encouraging as it shows that acupuncture and moxibustion can affect the response of the body to the environmental stimuli causing asthmatic attacks. Our clinical experience also supports this efficacy of Acupuncture and Moxibustion medicine. I noticed that after completion of course of treatment some patients fell and live better without attack for a several years. It seems that they never have asthma.

Bronchitis: By opening up the breathing tubes Acupuncture, can allow the lung tissue to function efficiently. The mechanism of acupuncture in bronchitis is probably much the same as in asthma, allowing more air to enter the lungs. Recent research works has shown that about 50+ per cent of bronchitis ‘benefit’ from acupuncture. It is also very effective for the treatment of some ENT problems like Tonsillitis, Sinusitis, Pharyngitis, Laryngitis, Discharge from ear etc.

Diseases of the Heart and Blood Vessels:
Angina: Using sophisticated measuring equipment the Chinese researchers have completed a variety of trials to assess the effects of acupuncture on the heart, and they have shown a marked increase in the functional ability and efficiency of the heart muscles after acupuncture. Several experiments carried out in the western countries give clear support to the idea that acupuncture does have an effect on the circulatory system. This is further supported by clinical work, which shows that some 80 per cent of patients with angina have improved after acupuncture.

The Correction of Abnormal Heart Rhythms: Heart diseases can frequently cause an abnormal rhythm to the heart beat; this may manifest itself as palpitations, an irregular heart beat, or dropped beats. In recently acquired arrhythmias, acupuncture can be effective in up to 70 per cent of cases.

The Use of Acupuncture in Addiction and Obesity:
There is some excellent physiological and clinical evidence to support the use of acupuncture method to treat obesity, smoking and hard drug addiction. The withdrawal symptoms experienced by people giving up smoking, or drugs, can be alleviated by raising the levels of endorphins in the nervous system.

Some people believe that the desire to eat is also mediated by the endorphin level in the brain. It is clear that endorphin levels throughout the nervous system can be increased by Acupuncture. It must be stressed that acupuncture cannot replace willpower. It can only help the withdrawal symptoms, or hunger pains, experienced by those already motivated and committed to solving their particular problem.

Reduce the Discomforts and Side Effects of Chemotherapy for Cancer:

The effect of acupuncture on chemotherapy-induced nausea, vomiting, insomnia etc. has been studied over the past 20 years, and clinical evidence gathered to date has been favorable. Current practice guidelines recommend acupuncture as a complementary therapy for insomnia, uncontrolled nausea and vomiting induced by chemotherapy.

Fertility and Gynecologic Problems: Women who are having problems with conception, premenstrual symptoms or menopausal issues will often see positive results with Acupuncture medicine. If drugs or hormones must be used, side effects may be reduced. For women who are experiencing disorders of conception, my own experience suggests that acupuncture along with herbal medicine is more effective and much less unpleasant and dangerous than hormonal treatments or in vitro fertilization procedures.

Foetal Malposition: In about 60 percent of women the foetus turns naturally prior to the thirty-fourth week of pregnancy; this can be increased to 90 per cent with the aid of this treatment After the thirty-fourth week, when natural version is less likely, the Chinese claim that 80 per cent of foetal malpositions will be corrected permanently by this procedure.

Anaesthesia for Labour and Delivery: Acupuncture anesthesia is widely used for caesarean sections in China. A report recently published, discusses the results of 1,000 cases managed in this manner. The Chinese Acupuncturist claim a 98 per cent success rate in the abolition of pain, a quicker recovery rate from the operation, less blood loss, and the obvious advantage of the mother being able to see the baby at, or soon after, birth. Acupuncture can also be used to provide pain relief in normal obstetric deliveries. The experience of a wide variety of acupuncturists in the western world would indicate that it is a useful and effective procedure.

Acupuncture Anaesthesia:

Acupuncture anesthesia is widely used in China and it has been used in a wide variety of operations, from minor procedures to open heart surgery or brain operations. It is undoubtedly an effective form of pain relief in the majority of people, but there is always a small percentage who fail to gain adequate analgesia from acupuncture. In general, acupuncture allows for a safer operation, with less likelihood of complications, and a swifter post-operative recovery.

Okay, So i’m not sure why i’m asking this, but I found it a little strange/funny and thought I’d share. Long story so bare w/ if you want to read it! =)

Last night my husband and I were fine sleeping until he woke up because he had heard …. loud “munching” in a corner. He shined a light in the space and found nothing. So we tried to go back to sleep until we heard it again! & again… & again! Finally I saw a tail sticking out from behind a drawer and knew it was a mouse/rat?

We have never had “rodent” problems before so it scared me a little, okay not a little but A LOT! I don’t even know where they’re coming from!

Anyways, we try to go back to sleep, but the sound was driving us CRAZY! My husband said he’d deal with it in the morning and not to worry about it, but yet I couldn’t help myself! To hear its little feet moving around in MY bedroom let alone MY house and to hear it munching made me absolutely disgusted!!

I tried to go back to bed, but yet I was so paranoid about it! As I was drifting off into sleep (still paranoid!) my damn husband moves his arm and wakes me back up and I am SCREAMING hysterically because I had though that his hand was a mouse/rat running across my stomach! Now at this point, I’m crying because of these damn hormones and my heart is racing like I’ve just ran 10 miles!

After collecting myself, I try to go back to sleep still paranoid and having panic attacks EVERY TIME my husband moved. THEN, the little disgusting creature crawls over to my bed side and I’m scared to death because it is basically right by me at this point and it LEFT its business in my corner! I swear these rodents are doing it on purpose to kill me!

I woke up at 4 AM to the noise and I don’t think I’ve had more than a hour of sleep at a time since! Every little movement I swear i’m having panic attacks and then I have trouble even breathing! Every time I tried to close my eyes I pictured rats and it made me even more paranoid!

Mind you, before my pregnancy I never really had a heightened fear of rodents like this, so is it just my hormones getting me all worked up & have any of your hormones got you going crazy like this?!

My husband and I find it quite funny now since it is all light and day, but I am still worried about how I am going to sleep tonight!

Is this also affecting my child If i’m having these horrible panic attacks like this? I have my routine check up and ultrasound( yay!) tomorrow and was wondering If I should even ask and explain to her what happend. It just seems so silly to me, but I can not help it!

One of the essential prerequisites for a healthy baby is an adequate pregnancy weight gain for the mother during her pregnancy. You should get insights into the need for weight gain during pregnancy and explore the link between obesity and pregnancy, if you are planning a baby or have just got the good news.

Need For Weight Gain During Pregnancy

The one time where weight gain among women is actually applauded and encouraged is during pregnancy. Various studies have indicated that babies, which do not receive adequate nourishment while in the womb, tend to be smaller and are prone to cardiac problems later in life. Starvation while in the womb leads to stunted development of various organs including kidneys, pancreas, and liver of the baby. A higher rate of infantile death is also noticed among such babies.

Doctors recommend a pregnancy weight gain of at least 20 pounds for all pregnant women, irrespective of their weight prior to pregnancy. The food eaten by women during pregnancy needs to be chosen with care with fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, beans, and other seeds, forming the majority of the diet. Consumption of added fats, sugars, white flour, and refined carbohydrates should be minimal even during the progress of pregnancy week by week.

Pregnancy And Obesity

However there is another problem. If unchecked, pregnancy weight gain in some women may even reach the level of obesity. Many women do not bother about their figure after pregnancy, believing firmly that having a baby leads to losing your once perfect figure, forever. Although, this may be partly true, new moms also need to recognize the link between pregnancy weight gain and pregnancy obesity.

A new mother may have several emotional issues to deal with regarding her newfound status of being a mother. For many women, the incessant pressures and responsibilities that go along with her new role may also lead to overeating, which in turn might cause weight gain, change in her body rhythms and ultimately obesity.

Some women also hold firm the conviction that the weight gained while pregnant is permanent and all attempts to get rid of it would be futile. However, they do not seem to realize that it would only take about a year to overcome the effects of pregnancy weight gain and regain their earlier figure.

Determining of the link between obesity and pregnancy could disclose other health issues apart from obesity. A sudden excessive pregnancy weight gain could be indicative of other factors, such as depression or physical factors such as difficulties faced in the course of pregnancy, ailments of the reproductive system or incontinence.

Conversely, a new mom faces another risk due to her pregnancy weight gain. As her body changes to adapt to her weight gain, the effect may be a further increase in weight gain.

To conclude, although a new mom may consider her body on a lower priority scale when weighed against all her duties and concerns regarding her baby, her responsibility towards herself and a healthy body should not be neglected, as her well being is ultimately her baby well-being too.

What a great experience being pregnant can be. There can also be potential concerns, the troubles of weight gain, muscle pain and joint pain, as well as the aches in our bones. This is such a joyous occasion, as well as one of a challenge. We feel such discomfort and pain. There is a solution. I have recently discovered the luxury of pregnancy massage! This is actually possible! We do need to make sure the needs fit our circumstances.

During pregnancy, we have normal feelings of stress, anxiety, even anxiety, as well as happiness and anticipation. Knowing there is a human being growing within us, we try extra hard to take care of ourselves, as well as the baby. However, some of these feelings can be relieved by a wonderful massage.

The many symptoms of pregnancy can be reduced by an appropriate pregnancy specialist. These specialists are also known as pre-natal specialists. She/he will have appropriate pillows that are needed to support the baby, and will know the proper positioning to make you most comfortable, and to keep the baby safe and healthy. When having a massage when pregnant, deep tissue massage is not recommended, as it may do harm.

Clothing is optional, some ladies prefer clothing (bra and underwear) others prefer towels or sheets for coverage. One important point is that the personal OB/GYN knows that you are considering pregnancy massage. These massages are good for when you are in labor, and are a great bonding experience for you and your husband. Massages when pregnant are not associated with miscarriages or any other complications. They are good for the mother and even after the baby is born, massages can often soothe a baby with colic.

Many mothers, myself included, are unaware of the fact that massages are possible, even helpful during pregnancy. I now know that massages can help eliminate waste products from the mother through the lymphatic and circulatory system, thus giving the mother more energy. Massages can also help with swollen ankles and legs, which any pregnant woman will tell you, are very uncomfortable. During my three pregnancies, I had the usual symptoms, ranging from sciatic nerve pain, stress on my spine, legs, even feet! The exhaustion I felt by the third pregnancy could have been reduced.

To have a massage while pregnant feels like it would be great. To know that my physical pain, stress and anxiety, as well as hormonal issues could have been alleviated by something so good for me is comforting. A calming, refreshing massage I will be seeking if blessed with another child I will be sure to look for a certified pregnancy massage therapist and consult my doctor. I will not go through another pregnancy without one!

Most women that have been diagnosed with female infertility are desperate to find treatment or a cure that will enable them to have kids. I have heard from and read of women that have allowed themselves to undergo a wide range of embarrising tests to try and work out the cause of their infertility, so the doctor could provide a treatment.

Female Infertility Treatment – Medical Options

Depending on if your preactioner can find a definite scientific cause for you infertility, different courses of treatment may be offered to you. Fertility drugs are prescribed to cause ovulation, hormone balancing drugs are prescribed to even out hormone imbalances and surgery is often recommended to correct physical conditions such as endometriosis. The adverse effects of drug therapy have resulted in some true horror stories for the women seeking a female infertility treatment. Most women that I have spoken to, chose to cease their drug therapy despite the possible benefits, because they felt that it was doing them more harm than good.

Other women have found that in attempting to talk about nutritional, emotional and psychological factors as affecting their infertility, with their doctors; they experienced cool responses. It seems that a lot of the medical community preoccupies itself with treating the symptoms of female infertility, rather than the causes.

If you are seeking to address your personal female infertility treatment from a more holistic point of view, then there are many practitioners of alternative medicine (including those that specialize in infertility, conception and pregnancy) that address all aspects (physical, nutritional, emotional and psychological factors)of female infertility treatment.

Female infertility treatment – alternative treatments

Many women have been able to overcome their infertility problems using techniques that range from changes to their diet and exercise regime, to keeping away from exposure to certain chemical and environmental influences. Here are some of the alternative female infertility treatments that have proven successful for other women:

* Nutrition for Fertility – you body requires certain vitamins and minerals in order for it to function to the best of its ability. Other dietary factors such as eating highly processed food (e.g. fast food, bleached sugar and flour) can affect how well your body functions. For example vitamin B6 (found in high quantities in garlic, tuna, banana, celery and cabbage, to name a few) has been attributed to balancing the estrogen/progesterone balances in women. Lisa Olson, in her literature on fertility, conception and pregnancy, describes in great detail how you can change your diet as a female infertility treatment.
* Exercise for Fertility – Women that exercise strenuously tend to experience irregularities in their ovulation and in some cases stop having their periods all together. Too much exercise can put lots of stress on a woman’s boy and reduce body fat levels below what is required for pregnancy to occur. If you partake in a lot of strenuous exercise, ease off for a while and give your body a chance to recover.Just as being underweight and over-exercised can reduce your fertility, so can being overweight and not active enough. In fact research suggests that being overweight can double a woman’s chances of being infertile. If you have a weight problem and are you are trying to get pregnant, loosing some weight will make you healthier, your lifestyle better, and improve your chances of conception.
* Understanding your Fertility – Another step in female infertility treatment is ensuring that you are familiar with your ovulation cycle and fertility period. When you can be certain that you are having intercourse during you 12 hour ‘window’ of fertility, you maximize your chances of conceiving. There are many methods that you can use to learn about your ovulation and fertility. Once you learn to recognize the signs, you will be able to pinpoint the best time to get pregnant.
* Take a Holiday to boost your Fertility – There have been anecdotal reports that show that some women who had been diagnosed as infertile, have in fact conceived while they were on holiday. Many women undergoing female infertility treatment experience high levels of stress and anxiety, and while they are relaxing on holiday they get pregnant. When your mind and body get a chance to take a break from the stress and pressure, you relax and sometimes that is just what nature needs in order to be able to take its course.

When seeking female infertility treatment, keep in mind that although modern medicine is still learning about all of the causes and cures of female infertility, it is still important to utilize all that science has to offer that can contribute to your health and wellbeing. Where ever possible combine the best of all world – doctors, nutrition, alternative and natural treatments, as well as emotional and spiritual health.

How great to be pregnant! It’s a time of joys and challenges. There are so many aches and pains, such discomfort. Though we are gaining weight, have muscle and joint pain, we are elated. What can we possibly do to alleviate this? I recently heard about pregnancy massage. What a luxury! During my pregnancies, I wish I had heard of this. In most circumstances, pregnancy massages can be a great relief and comfort.

When pregnant, we all know that we must, not only take care of ourselves, but also of the new baby growing within us. We have many feelings, some of them stress, anxiety, depression, as well as joy of the wonders and challenges ahead. All these feelings are normal, and can be alleviated a bit, unbeknownst to us through a pregnancy massage.

When I think back to my own 3 pregnancies, if I had known about these massages, I would have made it a point to get some. My sciatic nerve caused me great pain with my first child. This was partially due to the immense weight gain I had. By my second pregnancy, I knew what to avoid in order to minimize weight gain, but I felt stress on my legs. As I got into my third pregnancy, I felt exhaustion, but didn’t consider massages. Now I know that massages can help eliminate waste products from the mother through the lymphatic and circulatory system, thus giving the mother more energy

While there are so many joys and so much eager anticipation, pregnancy is by no means a comfortable time. A massage is a luxury in everyday life, but when pregnant, it should be a necessity! To know that my physical pain, stress and anxiety could have been alleviated by something so good for me is comforting. A calming, refreshing massage can even help with hormonal changes during pregnancy. If I am further blessed with another child, a pregnancy massage is definitely something I will be seeking.

Disorder of the stomach and bowels is one of the most fruitful sources of the diseases of infancy. Only prevent their derangement, and, all things being equal, the infant will be healthy and flourish, and need not the aid of physic or physicians.

There are many causes which may give rise to these affections; many of them appertain to the mother’s system, some to that of the infant. All are capable, to a great extent, of being prevented or remedied. It is, therefore, most important that a mother should not be ignorant or misinformed upon this subject. It is the prevention of these affections, however, that will be principally dwelt upon here; for let the mother ever bear in mind, and act upon the principle, that the prevention of disease alone belongs to her; the cure to the physician. For the sake of clearness and reference, these disorders will be spoken of as they occur:

To the infant at the breast.
—————————-

The infant’s stomach and bowels may become deranged from the breast-milk becoming unwholesome. This may arise from the parent getting out of health, a circumstance which will be so manifest to herself, and to those more immediately interested in her welfare, that it is only necessary just to allude to it here. Suffice it to say, that there are many causes of a general kind to which it may owe its origin; but that the most frequent is undue lactation, and the effects both upon mother and child fully dwelt upon.

Anxiety of mind in the mother will cause her milk to be unhealthy in its character, and deficient in quantity, giving rise to flatulence, griping, and sometimes even convulsions in the infant. A fit of passion in the nurse will frequently be followed by a fit of bowel complain in the child. These causes of course are temporary, and when removed the milk becomes a healthy and sufficient for the child as before.

Sudden and great mental disturbance, however, will occasionally drive away the milk altogether, and in a few hours. A Mrs. S., aet. 29, a fine healthy woman, of a blonde complexion, was confined of a boy. She had a good time, and a plentiful supply of milk for the child, which she continued to suckle till the following January, a period of three months, when her milk suddenly disappeared. This circumstance puzzled the medical attendant, for he could not trace it to any physical ailment; but the milk never returned, and a wet-nurse became necessary. In the following spring the husband of this lady failed, an adversity which had been impending since the date when the breast-milk disappeared, upon which day the deranged state of the husband’s affairs was made known to the wife, a fact which at once explained the mysterious disappearance of the milk.

Unwholesome articles of diet will affect the mother’s milk, and derange the infant’s bowels. Once, I was called to see an infant at the breast with diarrhoea. The remedial measures had but little effect so long as the infant was allowed the breast-milk; but this being discontinued, and arrow-root made with water only allowed, the complaint was quickly put a stop to. Believing that the mother’s milk was impaired from some accidental cause which might now be passed, the infant was again allowed the breast. In less than four-and-twenty hours, however, the diarrhoea returned. The mother being a very healthy woman, it was suspected that some unwholesome article in her diet might be the cause. The regimen was accordingly carefully inquired into, when it appeared that porter from a neighbouring publican’s had been substituted for their own for some little time past. This proved to be bad, throwing down, when left to stand a few hours, a considerable sediment; it was discontinued; good sound ale taken instead; the infant again put to the breast, upon the milk of which it flourished, and never had another attack.

In the same way aperient medicine, taken by the mother, will act on the child’s bowels, through the effect which it produces upon her milk. This, however, is not the case with all kinds of purgative medicine, nor does the same purgative produce a like effect upon all children. It is well, therefore, for a parent to notice what aperient acts thus through her system upon that of her child, and what does not, and when an aperient becomes necessary for herself, unless she desire that the infant’s bowels be moved, to avoid the latter; if otherwise, she may take the former with good effect.

Again; the return of the monthly periods whilst the mother is a nurse always affects the properties of the milk, more or less, deranging the stomach and bowels of the infant. It will thus frequently happen, that a few days before the mother is going to be unwell, the infant will become fretful and uneasy; its stomach will throw up the milk, and its motions will be frequent, watery, and greenish. And then, when the period is fully over, the milk will cease to purge. It is principally in the early months, however, that the infant seems to be affected by this circumstance; for it will be generally found that although the milk is certainly impaired by it, being less abundant and nutritious, still, after the third or fourth month it ceases to affect the infant. Is then a mother, because her monthly periods return after her delivery, to give up nursing? Certainly not, unless the infant’s health is seriously affected by it; for she will generally find that, as the periods come round, by keeping the infant pretty much from the breast, during its continuance, and feeding him upon artificial food, she will prevent disorder of the child’s health, and be able in the intervals to nurse her infant with advantage. It must be added, however, that a wet- nurse is to be resorted to rather than any risk incurred of injuring the child’s health; and that, in every case, partial feeding will be necessary at a much earlier period than when a mother is not thus affected.

The milk may also be rendered less nutritive, and diminished in quantity, by the mother again becoming pregnant. In this case, however, the parent’s health will chiefly suffer, if she persevere in nursing; this, however, will again act prejudicially to the child. It will be wise, therefore, if pregnancy should occur, and the milk disagree with the infant, to resign the duties of a nurse, and to put the child upon a suitable artificial diet.

The infant that is constantly at the breast will always be suffering, more or less, from flatulence, griping, looseness of the bowels, and vomiting. This is caused by a sufficient interval not being allowed between the meals for digestion. The milk, therefore, passes on from the stomach into the bowels undigested, and the effects just alluded to follow. Time must not only be given for the proper digestion of the milk, but the stomach itself must be allowed a season of repose. This evil, then, must be avoided most carefully by the mother strictly adhering to those rules for nursing.

The bowels of the infant at the breast, as well as after it is weaned, are generally affected by teething. And it is fortunate that this is the case, for it prevents more serious affections. Indeed, the diarrhoea that occurs during dentition, except it be violent, must not be subdued; if, however, this is the case, attention must be paid to it. It will generally be found to be accompanied by a swollen gum; the freely lancing of which will sometimes alone put a stop to the looseness: further medical aid may, however, be necessary.

At the period of weaning.
————————

There is great susceptibility to derangements of the stomach and bowels of the child at the period when weaning ordinarily takes place, so that great care and judgment must be exercised in effecting this object. Usually, however, the bowels are deranged during this process from one of these causes; from weaning too early, from effecting it too suddenly and abruptly, or from over-feeding and the use of improper and unsuitable food. There is another cause which also may give rise to diarrhoea at this time, independently of weaning, viz. the irritation of difficult teething.

The substitution of artificial food for the breast-milk of the mother, at a period when the digestive organs of the infant are too delicate for this change, is a frequent source of the affections now under consideration.

The attempt to wean a delicate child, for instance, when only six months old, will inevitably be followed by disorder of the stomach and bowels. Unless, therefore, a mother is obliged to resort to this measure, from becoming pregnant, or any other unavoidable cause, if she consult the welfare of her child, she will not give up nursing at this early period.

Depriving the child at once of the breast, and substituting artificial food, however proper under due regulations such food may be, will invariably cause bowel complaints. Certain rules and regulations must be adopted to effect weaning safely, the details of which are given elsewhere.

If too large a quantity of food is given at each meal, or the meals are too frequently repeated, in both instances the stomach will become oppressed, wearied, and deranged; part of the food, perhaps, thrown up by vomiting, whilst the remainder, not having undergone the digestive process, will pass on into the bowels, irritate its delicate lining membrane, and produce flatulence, with griping, purging, and perhaps convulsions.

Then, again, improper and unsuitable food will be followed by precisely the same effects; and unless a judicious alteration be quickly made, remedies will not only have no influence over the disease, but the cause being continued, the disease will become most seriously aggravated.

It is, therefore, of the first importance to the well-doing of the child, that at this period, when the mother is about to substitute an artificial food for that of her own breast, she should first ascertain what kind of food suits the child best, and then the precise quantity which nature demands. Many cases might be cited, where children have never had a prescription written for them, simply because, these points having been attended to, their diet has been managed with judgment and care; whilst, on the other hand, others might be referred to, whose life has been hazarded, and all but lost, simply from injudicious dietetic management. Over-feeding, and improper articles of food, are more frequently productive, in their result, of anxious hours and distressing scenes to the parent, and of danger and loss of life to the child, than almost any other causes.

The irritation caused by difficult teething may give rise to diarrhoea at the period when the infant is weaned, independently of the weaning itself. Such disorder of the bowels, if it manifestly occur from this cause, is a favourable circumstance, and should not be interfered with, unless indeed the attack be severe and aggravated, when medical aid becomes necessary. Slight diarrhoea then, during weaning, when it is fairly traceable to the cutting of a tooth (the heated and inflamed state of the gum will at once point to this as the source of the derangement), is of no consequence, but it must not be mistaken for disorder arising from other causes. Lancing the gum will at once, then, remove the cause, and generally cure the bowel complaint.

Some stress in our life is beneficial for motivation and action, on the down side, long term stress is among the top ten most common ailments suffered in this country, resulting in an adverse affect on our well being.

Depression, low libido, anxiety, hair loss, eczema and irritable bowel, can all be attributed to stress, resulting in a figure as high as 90% of visits to the doctor being stress-related. For example, when we are stressed we produce too much adrenaline which makes the heart beat faster and raises blood pressure.

Experts agree that the modern life style is often to blame: less exercise, a breakdown in family support and greater pressure at work all contribute to the problem. But lifestyle isn’t the only source of stress – stimulants are an increasing problem.

The popular image of stimulants is drink, drugs and a wild life-style, so you will probably be surprised to find out just how many substances that you use every day are classed as stimulants, and therefore stressors, by a nutritionist because of the effect they have on your body.

One stimulant is caffeine, found in coffee. Caffeine stimulates the nervous system, thereby inducing the stress effect. But even if you don’t drink coffee, don’t skip this section because caffeine is one of a family of substances called methylxanthines that are also found in tea, cola and chocolate.

Other members of the methylxanthine family are theophylline and theobromine that stimulate the heart, and as these are found in many decaffeinated drinks, buying decaffeinated products isn’t much better for you. Some evidence has been found of a link between the consumption of methylxanthines and breast lumps and cysts. With excess caffeine consumption upsetting the calcium balance, and iron absorption.

By focusing on the dangers, one can easily be misled, as most people find it beneficial to use caffeine containing products for short-term energy boost and pain killing effects. However, there is also evidence that caffeine can reduce the risk of Parkinsons, and even of Alzheimers disease, by protecting the blood brain barrier from harmful effects of cholesterol. Some researchers have linked caffeine to a lower risk of liver disease, type II diabetes and colorectal cancer.

As always, moderation is the key and you are advised to limit yourself to 300 milligrams of caffeine per day, which is what you’ll find in two 8-ounce servings of coffee.

If you try to give up caffeine altogether you may find that you get withdrawal headaches; but persevere and they will eventually stop. One surprising source of caffeine is in many brands of pain-killers, so check with your pharmacist or read the labels of any pain-killers you take to ease the withdrawal headaches. Any caffeine containing product may help in the first instance, however, this can trigger an even worse rebound headache. However, if you do reach the stage when you no longer use caffeine, you may find you get less headaches than before.

Many people think that tea is a healthier drink than coffee, but an 8-ounce size serving of tea has 40 to 120 mg of caffeine and so it too is a stimulant. Tea also contains tannin which has a dehydrating effect on the body and is known as an anti-nutrient because it combines with important minerals such as zinc and iron, forming substances which the body cannot absorb. This may lead to zinc and iron deficiencies. If you do drink (black) tea, decrease the amount and the strength. However, the occasional cup of weak tea is unlikely to harm you.

The good news, however, is that green tea – available from health food shops – is rich in antioxidants known as polyphenols which, incidentally, are thought to account for red wine’s ability to protect against heart disease. In animal studies, green tea has been found to have anti-carcinogenic effects. So to continue enjoying your cuppa and benefit your health, why not switch to green tea?

Don’t reach for a cigarette to calm you down after all that bad news, because contrary to popular belief, smoking is actually a stimulant. It raises your blood pressure, starves cells of oxygen (by accumulating carbon monoxide in the blood) and – as we all know – carries a high cancer risk. The risk of lung cancer caused by smoking is well known, however, non smokers can be more at risk from passive smoking, which is probably just as harmful, because undamaged lung tissue is more vulnerable.

Of course cigarettes and pregnancy – or even pre-pregnancy – just do not mix.

If you’re looking for alternative drinks to replace your tea and coffee beyond the recommended maximum, try fruit juice (diluted), spring water (filtered) or herbal teas. Dandelion coffee is an alternative – it’s a healthy alternative and has the added benefit of helping your liver to detoxify.

Troubled teens are young adults those are rejecting their heritage, rebelling against parental authority, looking for acceptance in the wrong places, and to whom academic pursuit is no longer a part of their vision.Troubled teens are young adults that suffer from one, or some of the following symptoms-Alcohol or drug abuse, Depression, Attention Deficit Disorder, Disrespect, Poor academic performance, Bad Attitude, Display of negativity (physically or mentally), Teen pregnancy, Suicide attempt, Eating Disorder.Teens experience sadness. Frustrations, disillusionment, the first heart break and hormones running amok are bound to sadden the gladdest of hearts on occasion but some teens experience a sadness that goes deeper, lasts longer and weighs heavier. This deeper, darker sadness is depression.

A normal teen can turn into a troubled teen for a combination of reasons. The reason is listed below: —–

Depression is one of the most common disorders: Depression causes decreased energy and social isolation. The teen may have difficulty with motivation. The depressed teenager will have difficulty summoning the energy to perform the activities they enjoy, as well as the activities the parent assigns as chores. They may, for instance, not “feel like” going to the mall with their friends, not “feel like” going to the rock concert, etc. The teen may feel tired all the time because sleep disturbances are also a sign of depression. They may feel as if they are insignificant and become irritable, taking out their misery on family members via verbal, emotional or physical abuse.

Hopeless: Troubled teens usually do not have any ambitions in life, or at least they are not strong enough to find for achieving them. Some troubled teens exert negative influences on others.

Panic attacks: Sometimes, he/she may be nervous doing a certain task that may be scary. Teens fear is to challenge your negative thinking with positive statements and realistic thinking. When encountering thoughts that make you’re fearful or anxious, challenge those thoughts by asking yourself questions that will maintain objectivity and common sense. For example a man/women afraid that if they do not get that job promotion then he/she will be stuck at your job forever. This depresses him or her; however your thinking in this situation is unrealistic.

Facing the fear and anxiety of the unknown: All most everybody worries about what will happen in the future? The prospect of not knowing if something good or bad will happen to you in the near future can produce a lot of fear and anxiety.

Alcohol and substance abuse: It is not easy to deal with his/her fears and anxieties however trying to avoid them through Alcohol or other substances will not work. Avoiding his/her fears and anxieties will not make them go away. His or her fears and anxieties will always be there.

‘Goths’ a Growing Problem: Recently in the news there has been a concern involving the “Gothic” subculture, specifically due to the death of a teen who was involved with the group [Dietz was not gothic.] I believe this sad event is only the beginning of a growing problem. [Gothic has been around for over 20 years. Its origin is usually placed in 1979.] I am concerned at some of the information presented in the articles that I have read.

Loneliness: Sometime he or she will experience a time when we are alone. Some people fear of being alone for various reasons. At that time the depression came to his or her mind.

Strong pressures and stress of life: Considering the world of today with all the high-pressure from parents, school, peers, advertising and the amount of information that is thrown at them daily it is no wonder that troubled teens are getting more and more. As young adults, they are shaping their personalities yet too many become troubled teens, unable to grow strong and secure due to the pressures and stress of life.

Many of them itself creates ideal conditions for the development of troubled teens, because it have proven that such teenagers have underdeveloped front part of the main brain, which makes it difficult for them to determine right from wrong. Many believe that troubled teens are product of the society they live in. But as it was already mentioned, it is most likely a combination of reasons that make teens troubled.

I realize it is not easy to deal with the fear of the unknown, however sometimes the fear can be worse than the situation. If you have trouble managing your anxiety of the future, then go to:

http://www.abundantlifeacademy.com/
http://www.troubledteens4jesus.com
http://www.troubledteenministries.com

They can be of great help. There are ways to help manage your fear and all it takes is some effort to find those answers.
These website(s) is a powerful Christian boarding school, providing the spiritual reality that today’s troubled teen lacks. Website(s) is on the cutting edge of academics, spiritual growth, and leadership training. It presents a full package, filled with power, performance, and promise. It is the alternative to the traditional boarding school, the therapeutic boarding school, and the emotional boarding school.
It is considered to be a challenging “preparatory” school, taking young men and women from adolescence and training them to meet the responsibilities of adulthood.

We cannot lay down a detailed list of sign of pregnancy for every woman, as pregnancy symptoms differ from women to women. In general, we can lay down certain general sign of pregnancy that may or may not be experienced by women. Understanding the sign of pregnancy is very important as these signs may also be related to other occurrences than pregnancy. A missed period can be one of the earliest sign of pregnancy. Moreover, after conception, when the embryo implants itself on the uterine wall, there will be implantation bleeding and you will experience cramping of muscles as well as spotting. They are the initial sign of pregnancy and can be generally misunderstood as a result of altered menstruation, infection or changes in birth control pill and so on.

Symptoms that Prevail Throughout Pregnancy:

As mentioned, a delayed menstruation is the first and foremost sign of pregnancy. You will also miss your next period and this confirms that fact that you are pregnant. Bleeding is very much normal during pregnancy period but it will be generally lighter than normal flow. Normally a missed period is generally attributed to hormonal problems, stress, tension and fatigue and so on. A tender breast is also a sign of pregnancy and may begin after one to weeks of conceiving. Though hormonal imbalances or delayed menstrual cycle may cause this tenderness, but generally it is a persistent problem that occurs specifically during pregnancy.

Since your body is supporting and feeding another life system, you tend to get more exhausted and stressed out during pregnancy. Fatigue or exhaustion is also early sign of pregnancy and can start as early as first week after conception. A pregnancy test will generally confirm your pregnancy because this tiredness or fatigue can also arise out of depression, stress, common cold or flu and so on.

The most common sign of pregnancy will appear between two to eight weeks of pregnancy. Morning sickness, dizziness, backaches, and even vomiting in extreme cases are some of these common symptoms. Some of you may be really fortunate enough not to deal with problems of morning sickness while others who are not so fortunate can feel queasy throughout entire pregnancy. Remember continuous back pains, nauseatic feeling, dizziness cannot be the result of food poisoning, stress or other disorders, as they all are transitory phases. They are sign of pregnancy that will prevail throughout your pregnancy.

Changes in the hormonal balance in your body during pregnancy can cause headache and this is also an early sign of pregnancy. Darkening of areolas, frequent urination and cravings for food are all sign of pregnancy and lasts throughout the entire pregnancy months. Frequent mood swings and irrational behavior are also very common during pregnancy. That is why it is very important for you to maintain a pregnancy journal that can give vent to your pent up feelings. Any pregnancy health related issues and occurrences can also find place in your journal. It makes your journey even more enjoyable.

Many women that have been diagnosed with female infertility are desperate to find treatment or a cure that will enable them to have babies. I have heard from and read of women that have submitted to a barrage of embarrassing tests to try and pinpoint the cause of their infertility, so the doctor could provide a treatment.

Female Infertility Treatment – Medical Options

Depending on if your doctor can find a definite scientific cause for you infertility, various courses of treatment may be offered to you. Fertility drugs are prescribed to cause ovulation, hormone balancing drugs are prescribed to even out hormone imbalances and surgery is often recommended to improve physical conditions such as endometriosis. The side effects of drug therapy have resulted in some true horror stories for the women seeking a female infertility treatment. Most women that I have spoken to, decided to discontinue their drug therapy despite the possible benefits, because they felt that it was doing them more harm than good.

The Truth About Ovecoming Infertility to Get Pregnant Naturally >>

Other women have found that in attempting to talk about nutritional, emotional and psychological factors as affecting their infertility, with their doctors; they experienced negative responses.

Many girls have been able to overcome their infertility issues utilizing methods that range from changes to their diet and exercise regime, to steering clear of exposure to specific chemical and environmental influences. Here are some of the alternative female infertility treatments that have proven successful for other girls:

* Nutrition for Fertility – you entire body requires certain vitamins and minerals in order for it to function to the greatest of its capability. Other dietary factors such as eating highly processed food (e.g. fast food, bleached sugar and flour) can affect how well your human body functions. For example vitamin B6 (found in high quantities in garlic, tuna, banana, celery and cabbage, to name a few) has been attributed to balancing the estrogen/progesterone balances in women. Lisa Olson, in her literature on fertility, conception and pregnancy, describes in excellent detail how you possibly can change your diet as a female infertility remedy.

* Exercise for Fertility – Ladies that exercise strenuously tend to experience irregularities in their ovulation and in some cases stop having their periods all together. Too much exercise can put lots of strain on a woman’s boy and lessen physique fat levels below what is needed for pregnancy to occur. In the event you partake in a lot of strenuous exercise, ease off for a while and give your body a opportunity to recover.Just as getting underweight and over-exercised can minimize your fertility, so can becoming overweight and not active enough. Actually research suggests that being overweight can double a woman’s odds of becoming infertile. If you’ve a weight issue and are you are trying to get pregnant, loosing some weight will make you healthier, your lifestyle much better, and improve your chances of conception.

* Understanding your Fertility – Another step in female infertility treatment is ensuring that you might be familiar with your ovulation cycle and fertility period. When you may be specific that that you are having intercourse during you 12 hour ‘window’ of fertility, you maximize your chances of conceiving. There are numerous techniques which you can use to find out about your ovulation and fertility. Once you discover to recognize the signs, you will be in a position to pinpoint the finest time to get pregnant.

* Take a Holiday to boost your Fertility – There have been anecdotal reports that show that some ladies who had been diagnosed as infertile, have actually conceived even though they were on holiday. Quite a few ladies undergoing female infertility therapy experience high levels of pressure and anxiety, and even though they are relaxing on holiday they get pregnant. When your mind and body get a opportunity to take a break from the strain and pressure, you relax and occasionally which is just what nature needs so that you can be able to take its course.

I was hospitalized in 2004 with a severe anxiety disorder, it was to the point that I didnt know what was wrong with me, and why i did not feel right, and was ready to “end” it. I was so tired of feeling mental.

I was put on Paxil CR for 2 years, switched to Lexapro when Paxil was recalled, then one year later, switched back when it back on the market. So Overall I have been on Paxil CR mostly.

I found out i was pregnant On Jan 5th, I am 14 weeks along right now, and I have discussed the pro’s and con’s of taking the medication. I was on 25mg and cut back to 12.5. I could not handle the cutback, and went back to 25mg about a month ago.

Now I am having all the feelings i had when i was UNdiagnosed, I am so sick, My head is like zoning in and out, I am waking up in a panic, i dont feel “real” or “here”, I am staring to get worse, i spoke to my doctor about switching to a different medication twice now, one that is LESS worrysome due to rating in pregnancy, and he insists that it is WORSE to switch because you are giving your baby 2 different med’s rather than one. Even though you taper off one of them

I am so angry, and i am scared at this point, and dont know what to do. I want to feel normal, not for only my sake, but my unborn child’s as well.

Should I try to UP my dose of Paxil? Or go see a PCP and switch to a different medication, I just know I cannot go on like this!! Please help!

During a massage, clothing is optional, some ladies prefer clothing (bra and underwear) others prefer towels or sheets for coverage. One important point is that the personal OB/GYN knows that you are considering pregnancy massage. Massages when pregnant are not associated with miscarriages or any other complications. They are good for the mother during labor, and even after the baby is born, massages can often soothe a baby with colic. Massages can be a great bonding experience for you and your husband.

As a mother of 3 girls aged 9 and under, I wish I had known about pregnancy massages when I was pregnant. I had such weight gain putting stress on my bones and muscles, my sciatic nerve caused me immense pain with my first child. My second pregnancy put stress on my legs and back and my third left me exhausted, needing a massage – unfortunately, I didn’t consider pregnancy massages. I now know that massages can help eliminate waste products from the mother through the lymphatic and circulatory system, thus giving the mother more energy. Massages can also help with swollen ankles and legs, which any pregnant woman will tell you, are very uncomfortable.

We’ve been together 10 yrs. and all I’ve ever wanted was to be his wife and year after year and 2 kids later I had to basically beg to get him to ask me. When I told him that I don’t want to do it just because he felt bad for my crying about it and I want it to be something he wants too he said he does but I just don’t believe him. I can’t rely on my feelings and emotions because they are so out of wack right now due to the ridiculously stressful life I’ve subjected myself too, so 1 min he’s awesome and the next I wish I could just pack up and be gone, but it’s never that easy. I do suffer from depression and anxiety and I know I am not an ideal girlfriend but I bend over backwards and do flips for this man something that I rarely see from him. I put him through a lot with my mood swings and just plain ol psychoticness but I feel justified in my bad treatment of him because I feel like I’ve given so much of myself to him and his family without any regard for me and my feelings. In my heart I feel like I will never be his first priority and that his mother and sister will always come first and it makes me so sad and it really hurts to think that we’ve spent so time together and been through so much, I’ve slept in hotels/cars with him for 3 years, had 3 abortions because he told me the pregnancy was my decision and we really can’t afford to have children so I thought I was doing what he wanted me to do,
I wash his clothes,
clean the house,
take care of the kids,
pay the bills (which I have not been doing lately because I don’t know why I just get so stressed)
allow his mother and sister to live with us because they get evicted (3 times now more than 6 months each situation)
becoming more sexual
play taxi (at least twice a week I have to pick either him or his mother up after I just worked a 9 hr shift being up since 4 am and sitting in traffic for hours, the list can go on but I do love this man although I think he can be such an ass because if I complain about doing any of the things listed above then I am not being a team player and I wonder wtf is he talking about because I am the team!!! But on the other hand he is sweet, he used to make me laugh but now I’m always so mad his jokes aren’t funny, I know he is a good man and together we can make things happen but I am really scared that I will not be made a priority and that I will end up hurting myself if I continue to stay I just want some peace and to be able to have our place/space to really grow up I am 27 and he is 29 and neither of us have ever really lived on our own except for our short 6 month breaks when I decided we need to move and get our own. I love his mother and sister but I want them to have their own lives and home and let us raise our family together and stop being so selfish but will I ever really be #1 to him and if we get married will he realize that he is now our family LEADER and take that responsibility seriously or will I continue to be the underdog although I am putting out the most results someone please help me I am at a loss!!!
I put the details because I kind of need to vent also, I feel like an idiot when I try to talk to my friends or family because I don’t want to appear needy, I am currently in therapy to try and make some type of sense of my life and get it on track so I can be more productive for my children. Thank you all for even taking the time to read through all that and giving your advice I really appreciate it alot :0)!!
last addition, the reason I have to play taxi is because he and I are the ones with cars, his mom and sister’s cars were repo’d about 2-3 years ago and they have been relying on us to get around or driving his truck because I won’t let them take my car if it’s not work related.

First things first, this is completely natural. Many midwives report tales of mothers being overwhelmed with fear for their baby. So much about ante-natal care nowadays is focused on preparing the mother for the worst, and giving signs to look out for that may indicate that something is wrong with your unborn child. While it’s good to be ready, and to know how to recognise these signs, this can create a horrible feeling akin to sitting around waiting for a plane to hit your house. You feel helpless, unable to protect the life that is growing inside of you, and like disaster could be just around the corner.

There is no doubt that exercising during pregnancy helps prepare your body for the stressful time that it is about to go through. Strengthening your muscles and increased endurance and stamina can definitely help with a lengthy labour. Exercise also releases endorphins to the brain, which can help relieve any stress and tension that you might be feeling. If you feel good, it can only be a good thing for your baby. Although, exercise might not be what your body craves, once you start working on a light routine, those aches and pains and embarrassing issues like constipation tend to work their way out of your system fairly quickly.

There are also new sites out there offering just the videos for viewing such as YouTube. And watching childbirth videos isn’t just for expectant mommies either; it may be a good idea for dad or the birthing coach to get an idea of what to expect. Other women may be interested in becoming a midwife or doula and want to study up on the different procedures and situations. And sometimes a woman who isn’t even pregnant likes to share in the joy of the special occasion.

Women, most during their first pregnancy or first pregnancy after a miscarriage can’t help but over analyze every twinge, feeling, milestone, medication or food ingested. This is especially true for those who have had a difficult road conceiving. As a mother of two healthy babies and two additional pregnancies that didn’t go to term I offer this piece of unsolicited advice: Try, try, try to enjoy the pregnancy. That is to say that you ARE going to worry and you will probably call the doctor more times than she/he would like; but everyday be happy that you ARE pregnant.

The words “anxiety and fear” are so commonly used and interchanged that many people don’t fully understand what they mean. Anxiety refers to an overriding mental tension with no apparent identifiable cause while fear may be caused by a specific, often external reason which causes mental tension.

Massage therapy during pregnancy is priceless! Getting weekly massages can decrease the discomfort on your fast-changing body. Studies show that massage during pregnancy can reduce anxiety, decrease symptoms of depression, relieve muscle aches, joint pains and improve labor outcomes.Practicing yoga during these nine months is a great way to prepare your body for labor. Yoga deepens your breath, calms your mind and stretches your muscles. Yoga helps with the aches and pains of pregnancy. Also, mental issues, such as moodiness, can be greatly decreased.

Pregnant women do have special considerations they need to factor in when choosing an appropriate exercise program. But there are special exercise programs designed to specifically meet the needs of expecting mothers. They focus on low impact exercises that ensure the safety of the baby all the while helping the mother to guarantee she will ease labor pain by following a great exercise program.
