There are many causes of insomnia, and research has long shown its relation with certain hormones in the body. Serotonin and Endorphins are particularly vital in achieving normal and restful sleep, and according to numerous doctors and massage clinics in Sarasota, FL, there is an indirect link between insomnia and massage.
The involvement of serotonin and endorphins has long been proven. These are what we call “feel good” hormones that give us feelings of happiness and well-being. The production of these hormones also block pain and stress signals to the brain, making us less likely to feel sad or stressed. Therapeutic massages offered by massage spas and clinics in various locations in Sarasota, FL recognize the relation between getting good sleep and massage. This is because massages involve skin to skin contact and stimulation of this sensory organ induces the release of hormones in the brain. It usually takes about 15 minutes for our blood vessels to arise, and it is after this moment that we begin to relax and relieved. This is why most people fall into deep sleep while or after getting a massage.

Over the years, numerous tragic stories have been in the news as a result of postpartum depression. Last year, it has even prompted the U.S. House of Representatives, to authorize spending $3 million aimed at awareness and further research. Postpartum depression (PPD) is actually a form of mood disorder that begins after childbirth and may last beyond six weeks and even up to a year. It affects about 15% of all childbearing women regardless of the number of pregnancies she has had.
Women with PPD, go through various stages of anxiety, especially with the added responsibility of caring for a newborn. In extreme cases where women are not able to seek help, they end up committing crimes or worse, they commit suicide. PPD is a very serious condition and it needs to be addressed the soonest time possible.

Pregnancy is a time of happiness and anxiety for both the mother and father. Family, friends and relatives all gather around to congratulate the couple. It is often hard to tell about a new pregnancy. The pregnant woman may get mixed signals about the symptoms of her pregnancy especially if it is her first time. There are many questions wondering her mind throughout the entire pregnancy time and couples often have aroused tensions due to unawareness of certain facts and figures associated with the pregnancy.
If you are a couple and are expecting a baby, the first signs of the pregnancy start as early as one to two days after conception. As soon as the mother conceives the baby, the symptoms start to appear. Symptoms like fatigue, headache and nausea are common examples of experiences as felt by the mother. However, these are very common feelings and experiences and usually can be caused by other illnesses as well. There is really one way to be sure and that is a home pregnancy test. However, a home pregnancy test can often show negative until unless one week has passed after a missed period. In some cases though, a missed period cannot truly represent a pregnancy especially if your periods are irregular or you are unaware of the exact date of your periods.

I am usually very happy and optimistic. When I get into a problem, usually I dwell for a moment, vent, and balance myself out. It doesn’t tend to linger for as long as it seems to now. I am 16 weeks pregnant and feel lonely and despair often. I know the changing hormone levels lead to changes in mood and emotion, but I am beginning to wonder if it’s possible that I have slight depression. I just feel like internally I am going crazy–as if I am being emotionally stretched. So many of the symptoms of pregnancy and depression overlap, so I am really confused. I don’t have thoughts of harming the baby or myself. I just feel so many emotions so much more strongly and accompanied by so many more. The feeling of despair is new to me. I am usually very motivated, but I am have little motivation to work or even go out. I can’t tell if this is pregnancy fatigue or something else. Depression does not run in my family. Anyone with any relevant experience or info please comment.
