Question: I have heard good things about a medication called Abilify. My son has been diagnosed with schizophrenia. I was told the medication is very effective in its treatment. Can you tell me a bit about this medication and what it is used for?Answer: Schizophrenia is a chronic, mental illness affecting more than 27 million people all over the world. According to WHO statistics, out of these 27 million people, 95% of untreated schizophrenia occurs in developing countries. About 1% of schizophrenic patients are Americans. Schizophrenia is treatable. The effectiveness of treatment depends on early detection. Abilify is among the most effective of medicines prescribed for the treatment of schizophrenia and bipolar 1 disorder. The medication is available at Big Mountain Pharmacy, and other accredited Canadian Pharmacies accessible online. Bipolar 1 is a mood disorder that is characterized by manic episodes. This is a severe form of bipolar disorder as it includes psychotic features.
Causes of the IllnessesThere is no single cause for schizophrenia. However, environmental factors, genes and psychological factors and brain chemicals are the main suspected culprits. The same is applicable for bipolar 1. Scientists believe abnormal fluctuation of brain chemicals cause this illness. For example, an increase in brain chemicals causes manic attacks, while a decrease causes severe depression. The risk of developing schizophrenia is higher at birth if the mother had certain infections during her pregnancy. In addition, mental trauma while growing up is also a cause of the illness’s development. These include abuse, death of a family member, bullying, extreme poverty etc. The risk of developing bipolar disorder or schizophrenia is higher when a direct family member is diagnosed with this illness. In addition, substance abuse and other factors also help in the illness’s development.

Question by honalie: Cervical cancer and pregnancy with lots of pain?
I have had precancerous cell’s for almost 2 years (since march of 08) I have had 3 biopsy’s and numerous pap’s. They went from low-grade to high-grade throughout that time, but for the past 6 months have not gotten worse. I have been putting off the LEEP procedure that they keep pushing for, because I wanted to have another baby and didn’t want an incompetent cervix to complicate the pregnancy. I have a 2 year old now that was premature. Didn’t want to go through that again.
But about 2 months ago I started getting sharp inter mitten pains that have increased with time. before it was every time I cough or laugh, now it is all the time. I had an appointment to get another pap and biopsy in Jan (this month) So 2 months ago I made up my mind to finally just go in and get the procedure done. Having those pains made it all a lot more “real” and I felt I waited long enough for results to change, and that I would worry a lot less to just go ahead and do it.
